April graduated cum Laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2006 where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Baltimore Law Forum, Assistant Manuscripts Editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review and was bestowed the Clinic Excellence Award for her service in the Family Law Clinic. Ms. Urban was also chosen as a Teaching Assistant in the University of Baltimore LARW program, where she had the pleasure of teaching legal research and writing skills to first year law students. She received a Bachelor of Science in Government and Politics summa cum laude from University of Maryland University College in 2000, where she became a member of the Sigma Lambda National Honor Society.

Ms. Urban is proud to have been selected for Maryland Super Lawyers in 2024 and 2025, and as a Rising Star in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. She is Lead Counsel verified through FindLaw and was nominated as a member of the Top 30 in Maryland through the Matrimonial and Family Trial Lawyers Association. She is also one of fifteen attorneys with the distinct honor of being chosen as a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Association Leadership Academy for the 2008-2009 session. In this regard, Ms. Urban participated in an intense year-long program focusing on leading the Maryland State Bar Association in the future.

Following law school, Ms. Urban had the distinct pleasure of serving as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Lenore R. Gelfman of the Circuit Court of Howard County.

Prior to law school, Ms. Urban worked for many years as a computer programmer, Facility Security Officer, and Program Analyst to the Naval Aviation Training and Operating Procedures Standardization ("NATOPS") Program helping ensure safety of flight for our beloved service members.

Ms. Urban was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2006 and the U.S. District Court, District of Maryland Bar in 201O and is an active member of several bar associations. She serves on the Maryland State Bar Association Committee for Resolution of Fee Dispute since 201O. She was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, grew up in Montgomery County and now lives in Laurel with her family.
